Gordon brings over fifteen years of marketing experience to Broadview Strategy Group. As Vice President he provides top-level support and project management for our three offices.
As a freelance writer and Creative Director, he has provided advertising and public relations support to companies like Sobeys, Nova Scotia Power, and BellAliant. He was involved with the launch of the Democracy 250 initiative and assisted annually with Dalhousie Medical Research Foundation’s fundraising efforts and the Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo. An award-winning copywriter, corporate video director, editor, producer, published author, and former syndicated columnist, Gordon provides us with a communications arsenal.
A former resident of both Toronto and Ottawa, Gordon currently lives in Bedford with his wife and two sons. He has long been a student of military history, analyzing the strategies behind significant battles and campaigns. He’s still working on coaching his son’s baseball team to a winning season.
John has been described as a ‘crusader’ for his efforts to carry forth a cause he believes in. His passion, drive and commitment to his work make him stand out in a crowded field of public relations experts. John’s mantra when it comes to work is that Broadview takes on causes, not ‘clients’. John likes to win and has a demonstrated track record for going the extra mile.
John has a varied professional background that includes stints as a community organizer, a political staffer, and Field Manager of a national public opinion research firm and accomplished not-for-profit executive.
His work has generated a wide degree of interest and gained him the opportunity to address the prestigious Empire Club of Canada. He has delivered guest lectures at the University of Toronto, University of Guelph-Humber, and McMaster University on topics including citizen involvement in environmental assessments, earned media and grassroots lobbying strategies, the role of demonstrated public opinion and community acceptance in government decision making.
Laforet’s method of community mobilization and grassroots lobbying sets him and Broadview Strategy Group apart. Community organizations, corporations, labour groups and industry associations rely on him for strategic advice and campaign execution on a wide range of topics.
John has been published by ThompsonReuters, and has written syndicated columns for the QMI Agency. He is currently a blogger with Huffington Post Canada.
Lindsay Macaulay is a bilingual (English-French) member of Broadview Strategy Group’s team and works on a wide range of client projects. Her studies in Political Science have provided her with a strong research background. Lindsay’s understanding of marketing has been demonstrated on a number of clients’ social media campaigns and resulted in increased sales.
Originally from Grimsby, Ontario, Lindsay moved to the big city to pursue her studies and joined the team at Broadview Strategy Group after working in the not-for-profit sector, providing bilingual support to national organizations.
Lindsay has a black belt in Jujutsu and although she stands just four feet, ten inches tall, she can kick higher than any other member of our team.
She works with a number of our small business clients on social media marketing initiatives, actively growing their profiles and sales.
